Today I am going to discuss Blood pressure And health insurance that is particularly close to my heart, namely high blood pressure. Many people live with this disease daily without knowing it. And yet, without regular care and monitoring, the consequences can be very serious.
When do we talk about high blood pressure?
According to the latest statistics published by the National Institute of Health and Medical Research, nearly 14 million French people today suffer from hypertension or high blood pressure. And unfortunately, out of 10 people affected, 5 have been diagnosed, but only 2 are undergoing treatment. Many do not know that they are hypertensive very easy drawing for kids.

But when should you worry about it? As a reminder, for those who do not yet know it, blood pressure is expressed by two figures which are systolic and diastolic. Blood pressure is thus normal when systolic is below 140 mmHg and diastolic below 90 mmHg. Mild, moderate, or severe, we can speak of hypertension when the figures obtained from a manual blood pressure monitor or an electronic manometer exceed these thresholds.
Symptoms and causes of hypertension
Caution is in order, however. In fact, before confirming hypertension, the main person concerned must be checked at least three times by their attending physician or by a cardiologist, over 3 to 6 months. And the big problem with this insidious pathology is that it is silent. In the majority of cases, it evolves stealthily without any manifestation. However, as soon as you are repeatedly faced with one or more of these symptoms, I advise you to make an appointment with your doctor without further delay.
You should consult when: you have a migraine in the neck area, especially in the morning. Repetitive tinnitus and ringing in the ears are also the warning lines for hypertension. But also dizziness, shortness of breath after exertion, palpitations, or even nosebleeds. Many can be the causes of hypertension such as heredity, obesity or overweight and sedentary.
Finally, in some cases, arterial hypertension is the symptom of a more serious disease, to name only kidney failure or type 1 and 2 diabetes. Fortunately, detected in time, it is quite possible to live well while being hypertensive, while respecting a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet.

After having left the working world, retirees have the option of keeping their complementary health insurance. This mutual portability goes from a collective contract to an individual contract. The question now arises: is it worth maintaining this business health insurance?
Maintaining company health coverage in retirement: is it possible?
At the time of retirement, several questions jostle in the minds of working people, especially those concerning complementary company health. The good news is that retirees have the option of requesting portability from their corporate mutual. The person concerned must send his request for maintaining health coverage at least six months before leaving the company definitively. The contract should normally take effect the next day.
What is changing?
However, don’t expect conditions to change. Initially, as the employer no longer participates in the payment of contributions, the insured must now bear all the charges. Thus, if as an active person, he only paid 50 euros in contributions and the company supported the remaining 50 euros, now the retiree pays 100 euros out of his pocket. But that’s not all. The contract is also subject to an increase capped at 50%. The bill does not amount to 100, but 150 euros. To put it simply, in the first year, prices should not exceed those applied for active employees. In the third year, the increase reaches 50%.
Note that only retirees can continue to benefit from this company’s health insurance. These beneficiaries can no longer benefit from it. The other members of the family must then subscribe to a new contract on an individual basis.
Is it more interesting to change health coverage?
A retiree needs to ensure that the company contract to which he decides to continue to subscribe adapts to his new situation. With age, hospital stays may increase, for example. Does the contract include a reinforced hospitalization guarantee?
It is thus essential to draw up specifications that summarize. The real insurance needs of the retiree and to build an insurance contract modeled on it. What’s the point of paying so much money and having a supplement. Especially since in retirement, the cash flow decreases. Optimizing your budget is therefore crucial.
