Precautions for use
This medication should be used WITH CAUTION: In the elderly , or weakened,
if you have buy myxedema (thyroid disorders, accompanied by dry, cold skin and swelling in the face and limbs),
If you have a head injury, if you have a decrease in the total volume of blood (hypovolemia) , If you suffer from respiratory failure (decreased ability to breathe),
If you suffer from chronic liver disease (liver failure), pancreatic disease, If you suffer from inflammatory bowel disorders,
If you suffer from biliary problems,
If you suffer from renal insufficiency,
If the size of your prostate is abnormally enlarged or if you have difficulty urinating, If you suffer from constipation (report any constipation to your doctor so that he can give you appropriate treatment),
if your adrenal glands do not produce enough hormones (adrenal gland insufficiency or Addison’s disease),
If your blood pressure is too low (hypotension),
If you suffer from alcoholism or delirium tremens,
If you suffer from mental disorders induced by a substance or by an infection (toxic psychosis),
If you experience abnormally intense pain (hyperalgesia).
Other medicines and OXYCONTIN LP 10 mg, prolonged-release film-coated tablet:
This medicine should not be taken together with buprenorphine, nalbuphine or pentazocine, as well as naltrexone, nalmefene and sodium oxybate.
Concomitant use of OXYCONTIN LP and sedative drugs such as benzodiazepines or related drugs increases the risk of drowsiness, breathing difficulties (respiratory depression), coma and may be fatal. For this reason, concomitant use should only be considered when other treatment options are not possible.
These drugs can interact with oxycodone and you may experience symptoms, such as involuntary rhythmic contractions of muscles, including the muscles that control eye movements, restlessness, excessive sweating, tremors, exaggerated reflexes, increased muscle tone, body temperature above 38°C.
If you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, tell your doctor or pharmacist, in particular medicines which act on the central nervous system and which may have a sedative effect:.
